The Gingerbread Man

We have been reading many different versions if the classic story "the Gingerbread Man". We know that the gingerbread man can be very sneaky! Look at what he did to our room and to Snowflake! The kids have decided that we need to make traps to try to catch him;)

School Bus

We had the opportunity to check out the inside of a school bus. We went over the rules and even practiced the right way to sit on a bus. The majority of our friends had never been in a bus before. They were surprised that the bus did not have any seat belts;)

Kindergarten Camp Pics

Mr. Gillott (Turner's dad) took us to his gym to test out the new rock climbing wall. The kids were really excited to be the first to use it! Thanks Mr. Gillott:)

Last Day of Winter

What do you do on the last day if winter? You make snow!! We made it using a product called "Insta-snow". Just add water and the powder instantly turns into amazing artificial snow that looks and feels like the real thing.

Do you have a writer's eye? This is what we ask ourselves every time we begin writing in our journals. Here are the four things that each writer needs to do in order to have a good pair of "writer's eyes"...
1. I see a capital letter at the beginning of my sentence.
2. I see finger spaces between each word.
3. I see lowercase letters throughout my sentence.
4. I see punctuation at the end of my sentence.
Students who use all four criteria are able to wear a pair of "writer's eyes". The kids love wearing the glasses as they are writing. They really enjoy walking around, helping their fellow classmates with their writing too! Encourage your child to use their "writer's eyes" when writing at home :)
