Do you have a writer's eye? This is what we ask ourselves every time we begin writing in our journals. Here are the four things that each writer needs to do in order to have a good pair of "writer's eyes"...
1. I see a capital letter at the beginning of my sentence.
2. I see finger spaces between each word.
3. I see lowercase letters throughout my sentence.
4. I see punctuation at the end of my sentence.
Students who use all four criteria are able to wear a pair of "writer's eyes". The kids love wearing the glasses as they are writing. They really enjoy walking around, helping their fellow classmates with their writing too! Encourage your child to use their "writer's eyes" when writing at home :)

Good Behavior Movie

Don't forget to wear your pj's tomorrow. We will be watching the movie in the small gym, so be sure to bring a pillow and blanket too! I'm so proud of the students who were able to reach their goal of earning 10 stickers! Congrats! I hope you enjoy the movie:)

Election 2012
Special thanks goes out to Jennifer Manazer for helping us vote today! She was in charge of our voting booth. Each child registered to vote by signing in. They were then given a ballot to cast. Once they were done voting, they received an " I voted today" sticker.

Morgan and Mackenzie are proudly wearing their "I voted today" stickers.

Boo Stew and Pumpkin Puke
Fun Friday certainly held up to its name today! We had a blast during "scooking club". This is the term we made up while trying to think of a name for the days when we do science and cooking together. We started off by making boo stew.  Once the stew was devoured, we made pumpkin puke.
Boo Stew Ingredients:
 Fried bat wings (Frosted Flakes)
Cat eyes (Hershey Kisses)
Tiger teeth (Candy Corn)
Polar bear toes (Small marshmallows)
Spider eggs (Skittles)

**** WARNING: You might turn into a ghost after eating boo stew! Eat at your own risk! ****
